No, I'm not posting a link for this one. It's out there for those that want full specs or to buy one. My question is, is this a good idea?
Personally, I think it depends on where you live, at least for now anyway. AZ won't care - until someone is killed with one. If congressional democrats get wind of this, and figures out what FPE & FPS mean, the feces will be flyin! And it won't stop there. Wait until they figure out how many .30-.50 cal repeater air rifles are already out there which are quite capable of dispatching most 4 legged critters on the continent. There are even vids of big game hunts in Africa using air rifles.
In terms of power, the air rifle I'm referring to is low powered for a PCP gun. Mostly (I assume) due to the air required to actuate the magazine in semi or full auto mode. However, in .30 cal it still the FPE still clocks around that of a .22LR subsonic round. Will anti-gun professionals car about this fact at all? Of course not. They'll simply sell the idea of a .30 cal air machine gun. They don't know, or care what the difference is between a .50 cal black powder percussion rifle & a Browning .50 BMG.
So, is this a good idea? Do we want an airgun in the forefront of Federal anti-gun groups?
This could set precedent & language used to outlaw lasers, railguns, and all future to armament.

In general, state & federal gun laws don't address the method used to drive a projectile, permitted velocities, energy expended (in FPE), or whether a "gun" must use a projectile i.e. energy weapons. Hunting laws in most states are clear about methods used to take game, and state weapon types & when they may be used. Gun laws, generally speaking, seem to be written by people lacking technical knowledge of the subject. Broad sweeping strokes using a generalized vocabulary turn out nonsensical laws. There are already 7 states with cities banning air guns. I won't even do business anywhere in a state that has cities with those types of laws. Ebay & other retailer have a list of those zip codes if you're interested. Sooner or later, the Second will be amended. It was subverted in 1934 due to changes in technology, and subsequently changed piecemeal depending on political winds.

According to one report, it fires its 16 round mag in .89 seconds. Theoretically, 1065 rounds per min. It takes longer to change the magazine than to empty it. Supposedly the air tank give you 100 rounds at "optimal" velocity.
