This is an impressive copy of the original. Were it not for the blond stock - (usually found on non-mil M1As) it could fool a gun guy from 20 ft. The meticulous detail Daisy put into the plastic molds is almost unprecedented, even to the point that when the bolt handle is pulled back, a silver dual lug bolt is exposed. I'm keeping my eye open for a surplus M14/M1A wood stock to fit for this gun. The battle sights, safety & bolt function just like the original & would make a great training rifle for a Garand or M14/M1A. Turning over a prized $2000 rifle to a novice for training is disconcerting, even unloaded. I'll add more later.

How deas it shoot? Is the barrel steel or plastic?
